How is a regular recipe different than an Ideal Protein recipe?
Typical recipes add in lots of extra fats in oils, butter or other ingredients. Ideal Protein recipes limit the amounts of fats in any one meal. Ideal4umeals also uses the type of protein to determine which meals are best to add healthy fats to. For example, our Chef’s prepare the Dirty Rice meal with ground beef, which is higher in fat than poultry, pork or seafood. Therefore, we avoid adding oil to this meal. If it is used, we note that on all packaging information so that dieters can track their oil intake. For sides, ideal4umeals selects vegetables based on which category they fall. We use no more than a half cup occasional vegetables in any one meal. The Dirty Rice meal contains all vegetables from the select category. Remember that all Ideal Protein serving sizes are based on raw sizes.
