Our New Orleans Shrimp and Cauliflower Grits is a delicious Ideal Protein Shrimp weight loss recipe.
Our chef’s have formulated this meal, along with other Ideal Protein Shrimp and Cauliflower Grits recipes to follow the guidelines of the Ideal Protein diet. It contains 2 tsp olive oil, 1.8 cups select vegetables, .2 occasional vegetables and 2 healthy fats. It will leave you coming back for more, so you may want to order an extra of this meal! It’s made with shrimp sautéed in olive oil with Cajun seasonings and cauliflower grits. Did you know that shrimp is one of the leanest proteins. And with only 10 net carbs, it’s a low fat and low carb meal that will not only facilitate weight loss. However, because we’ve mastered the art of preparing full flavored “diet” meals, you won’t feel like they’re dieting.
For more IP Shrimp recipes stay tuned. Love this meal but need to add some healthy carbs? Check out our Phase 3 Cheesy Shrimp and Grits over brown rice. We make this meal with the same great ingredients but with added cheese and butter.
Phase 1 of the Ideal Protein does not allow traditional rice of any kind. This includes brown rice, white rice, jasmine rice, etc. Instead cauliflower rice is a great substitute. Traditional rice is high in carbohydrates, however, cauliflower rice is low in carbs and low in calories. Ideal Protein Phase 1 restricts carbs so rice is definitely a no-no in phase 1. Cauliflower is an easy to digest vegetable and unlike rice, it’s lectin free. It contains vitamins and minerals including folate, vitamin A & C, and is a good source of dietary fiber.
Cauliflower can also improve immune function and lower blood pressure. Although it can be bland when unseasoned, our chef’s add season it well. Once adding the cauliflower rice to food, like Gumbo or Ettoufee, you may not even notice it’s not rice! However, if you love traditional rice, have no fear! It will be reintroduced into your diet in Phase 3.
